It's a world of music sometimes informed by the songwriting of Fiona Apple, the energy of Led Zeppelin, the sonic palette of Tyler, the Creator. S AND R bring an uproarious rock instrumentation to vulnerable, genre-bending songwriting.Partners Saxon Kennedy and Reeve Pope find dialogue onstage, drum fills responding to guitar riffs and lyrics in a tight embrace. Saxon screams moody confessionals: queerness, community, love, astronomical metaphors. Behind the drum set, Reeve responds in rhythms that pull these quivering stories together.
